Bio
Andrei Krylov was born 1959 and started guitar studies in St.Petersburg, Russia at the age of 11. He graduated Music School and State Music College in St.Petersburg. In 1980's-90's he worked as a classical guitar teacher and performer and he has played with the St. Petersburg Chamber Orchestra (conductor, Eduard Gustin) and the "Old Petersburg " music theatre. He has given recitals in Russia, Ukraine, Estonia, USA, and Canada. Andrei has recorded and performed for Russian Broadcast Radio and TV and a copy of his performance was published by TV St.Petersburg. His awards include first prizes in the St. Petersburg Songwriters' competition in 1984 and 1988. He has recorded and published several albums of original songs, original guitar music, flamenco and classical guitar music, lute music, one of which has sold over 60,000 copies.

In Canada, he has performed at various festivals, including Latin Extravaganza, Kitchener's Salsa In The Square, Toronto's Weston Festival, Hamilton's Concession Street and several multicultural festivals. Few of his performances were televised; one by Roger's Cable and the others by COGECO.

Andrei has been compared favourably to many great guitar players, but has a style uniquely of his own.

In addition to his classical and flamenco music, Andrei (who also trained as a jazz guitarist, before returning to his classical roots) has a repertoire of original jazz compositions. He is about to release a CD with these selections in the near future.

"In White Concert Hall of St. Petersburg Folk Theatre was concert of classical guitar dedicated to the 100' birthday of great brazilian composer H. Vila-Lobos. His music was played by L. Karpov, A. Zhakov, S. Ilin, A. Krylov & I. Permyakov. The concert has great success. It was not enough seats in the

hall for the people who want to listen. The reasons for this are talents and skills of the performers. We want to see them again as much as possible in other concert halls of our city."

"Spring. St. Petersburg. International Bienalle of Modern Art - 92. Huge space of exhibition hall filled with somebody's dreams, hopes & ambitions. The cold light of spring day mixes with festivity of colours & forms & magic sounds of music penetrates all this rage of art . They widen, channel off to the all corners and became the essence of the exhibition. When the silence come - you feel emptiness and anxiety. When music play - you feel peace & eternity. One man has created this world of harmony which unites all arts on this exhibition. His name is Andrew Krylov."

He makes his guitar cry & sing, and it's voice touched me deep in my heart. I never thought that the guitar could do that!"

"Andrew Krylov is at one with his guitar. His music captivates you and carries you through the realms of emotion he creates with his music. It was a wonderful experience to listen to this highly skilled classical guitarist. Andrew ranks at the highest level of artistic accomplishment."

"Mr. A. Krylov in my opinion is one of the best guitarists in the country!! Even my 15 year old son, whom always changed my radio station from classical music to pop or rock, surprised me when he said he loved to listen to Mr. Krylov's classical guitar music. I would highly recommend Mr. Krylov's art to anyone who enjoys music."
