The Failte Band originated from a casual collection of musicians in the Autumn of 1991 in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

Failte (pronounced "fall-cha") means welcome in Irish.

Currently, the group consists of original members, Jay Weiler and Stephen Todd, as well as Tim Thorne and Jay's sister, Jessica.

The band plays traditional Celtic music with a Canadian attitude.

Set lists include slow airs, ballads, jigs and reels from Ireland, Scotland and Canada.
