Traces Steel Band…….A Unique Tropical Experience!
One-man band to 12-piece

brings you the tropical feel of the islands with songs you’ll love to hear with a little something for everyone; from old standards like “Yellow Bird”, “Red, Red Wine”, “Jamaica Farewell” to some upbeat spirituals such as “Amazing Grace”, “How Great Thou Art”, and “Rivers of Babylon”.
You can enjoy a little
country music with “Green, Green Grass of Home” and “Lonesome
Me”, and jazz – with songs like “In The Mood”, and even some
classical selections as “Für
Elise”, “Song of Joy”, etc.
The band plays many more
songs with many different styles. As
an added treat, while the band is on a break, you can experience hands
on learning and get a close up view on how the steel pan is played.

Christmas show!

Led by Joe Lovell, Traces Steel band has been playing pan in the Waterloo Region and surrounding communities for over 10 years.
The band has developed over time and presently boasts of 8-12 members of diverse backgrounds from the Caribbean and Canada who truly appreciate the unique experience and joy of playing pan.
Traces is supported by pan-makers, Jerry Jerome and Gerrard Clark, from Trinidad who make and tune the large inventory of wonderful drums which Joe has acquired over the years. Several Band members have their own instruments as well.
