Mannheim Virtuosi is a unique string ensemble that performs a vast array of musical styles including: Baroque, Classical, Contemporary, Pop, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Latin, Celtic, New Age, Seasonal, Ethnic, Originals, etc.! From a duo to a 10‑piece ensemble, Mannheim Virtuosi also performs with harp, guitar, piano, voice, flute, trumpet, drums, percussion, etc.

Angela Cox‑Daly (violin) and Ross Daly (viola & violin) form the nucleus of the ensemble as a husband and wife duo formerly known as The Daly Duo Strings. They have been performing together as a duo since 1983 at various concerts, festivals, weddings, corporate and special events throughout Ontario and have also performed in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Florida.

Since graduating from the University of Toronto (1987) with Bachelor of Music in Performance degrees, they have since settled in the Kitchener‑Waterloo area of Southern Ontario. Angela performs regularly in the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony as 2nd Associate Concertmaster, a position she has held for the past 12 years. Ross is a freelance performer who has performed in various symphony orchestras such as the Kitchener Waterloo Symphony, Hamilton Philharmonic, Thunder Bay Symphony, etc. He also performs in and manages his other ensembles of note ‑ Blue Canoe (Jazz, originals, Pop, Rock, etc.), Wave (Latin) and Mystic Fyre (Celtic).

Ross and Angela have extensive recording experience as symphony musicians with various orchestras (CBC label and radio; Rogers cable TV), as session players on other independent artists’ CD’s and as soloists / performers on their own ensembles’ recordings. They have recently been signed on as extensive recording artists for Small Dog Records in Kitchener and are currently working on their first full length CD as Mannheim Virtuosi.

Mannheim Virtuosi concert performance programming is varied according to the presenter’s requirements, eg.: (1) all Classical (2) light Classical (3) Jazz, Pop, Originals, etc. (4) New Age, Easy Listening, Originals, etc. (5) mixture of styles. Each show delivers dynamic entertainment value in a professional manner as they have done over the past fifteen years.
